Russia seizes a series of weapons of the Ukrainian army near Kiev

Sputnik quoted the announcement on March 21 of the Russian Defense Ministry as saying that the Russian army had won the confrontation in the suburbs of Kiev.


"Units of the Russian parachute forces forced the nationalist battalions and units of the Ukrainian army to withdraw from their positions on the outskirts of Kiev. Those who withdrew left behind a series of weapons such as tanks, multi-purpose armored vehicles, a variety of weapons, guns, anti-tank weapons and ammunition," the statement read.


Russia posted a video showing the weapons it seized from Ukraine.

The list of Ukrainian weapons seized by Russia includes T-64 and T-72 tanks, as well as German-made Panzerfaust 3 anti-tank weapons, 9K38 Igla missile systems and other weapons.


According to Sputnik, this batch of weapons will be transferred by Russia to two militias in the two breakaway regions of Donetsk and Lugansk, Eastern Ukraine. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to transfer Western weapons that Moscow confiscated from Ukraine to two breakaway regions so that they can strengthen their defenses.


In recent days, the Russian military has begun to make significant strides in its special operation in Ukraine, while two separatist militias in the Donbass have gained control of parts of the East with the aid of Russian forces.
