Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the latest information on the losses of Russian troops and called for the surrender of Russian troops.
In a video address on March 14, President Volodymyr Zelensky sent a message to Russian soldiers participating in the military operation in Ukraine, urging them to give up their weapons and surrender.
"On behalf of the Ukrainian people, we give you a chance to live. If you surrender to our forces, we will treat you as humans treat each other - with respect. important. Make a choice," said Mr. Zelensky.
According to President Zelensky, the military operation in Ukraine has become a "nightmare" for Russian forces and many Russian soldiers are fleeing the battlefield, leaving weapons and military equipment to the Ukrainian forces.
"They left the battlefield, leaving their vehicles and equipment behind. We took those equipment and used it in the defense of Ukraine. Russian forces became a supplier of equipment to the military. ours," said Mr. Zelensky.
Zelensky also revealed the losses of Russian troops in Ukraine.
"Our forces continue to inflict heavy losses on the Russian army. Soon, the number of Russian helicopters shot down will reach 100. They have lost 80 military aircraft, hundreds of vehicles. along with thousands of other military vehicles and equipment," Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president added that the European Union (EU) has imposed a fourth package of sanctions on Russia and he is "certain" it will not be the last.
"We are still working with our partners on new restrictive measures that can be imposed on Russia," Zelensky said.
President Zelensky said on March 12 that "about 1,300 Ukrainian servicemen" have been killed since Russia began its military operation on February 24. This is the first time that Ukraine has publicly disclosed the number of casualties of its armed forces after skirmishes with the Russian army.
Earlier, on March 2, Russia confirmed that nearly 500 of its servicemen were killed while participating in military operations in Ukraine. However, Moscow has so far not updated the new figures.
President Zelensky claimed that Ukraine's military had "dealt the strongest blow in decades to Russian forces" and said that Ukraine's war was at a strategic turning point.
Zelensky said that 31 groups of Russian tactical battalions have lost their combat capabilities and Russia has also lost more than 360 tanks. Zelensky added that some groups of Russian troops have surrendered to Ukrainian forces, but Moscow is continuing to strengthen its forces, exceeding the size of Ukraine.
Russia has not yet commented on the above information.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said on March 14 that the Russian military destroyed nearly 4,000 military targets during the special military operation in Ukraine, including 143 drones, 1,267 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles.
Russia announced the end of the campaign only when Ukraine guarantees to maintain its neutrality, recognizes the Crimean peninsula as part of Russia's territory and recognizes the independence of the two breakaway territories of Donetsk and Lugansk.
