Reuters reported that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that neighboring Belarus began a large-scale exercise today, May 4, aimed at testing the combat readiness of the country's army. .


Minsk was quick to confirm this exercise. "This is a pre-planned exercise and will involve many military vehicles to test the army's combat readiness," the Belarusian Defense Ministry said.


Besides, Belarus also stressed that this exercise is not intended to threaten neighboring countries.


Ukraine has expressed concern about the Belarusian military exercises. Ukrainian Border Force spokesman Andriy Demchenko said: "We do not rule out the possibility that at some point in the future Russia will use the territory of Belarus for its military operation in Ukraine and its troops The Belarusian team can also take part in this operation. So we have to be ready to be alert for any situation."
