Billionaire Bill Gates admits the mistake that caused his marriage to fall apart

Billionaire Bill Gates admitted to making mistakes and taking responsibility when asked about his "blockbuster" divorce with ex-wife Melinda French.

In an interview with Today on May 3, technology billionaire Bill Gates was asked if he had ever been "unfaithful" during his 27-year marriage to Melinda French.

Mr. Gates replied: "I made a mistake and I accept responsibility. Divorce is a sad thing. I am responsible for causing a lot of pain to my family. It was a difficult year. I feel everything. We're both moving forward."

Last May, Mr. Gates and his ex-wife announced their divorce because their marriage was "unsalvable" and they believed they could not go together in the next step. They officially divorced in August 2021, according to court records.

After a year, Mr. Gates revealed: "Melinda and I are still working together. It (the divorce) is sad, but we are getting through."

Mr. Gates declined to be specific about the cause of the divorce, emphasizing: "I don't think it's constructive to go into details at this point, but it is true that I caused pain and I feel terrible about it."

In an interview with CBS in March, Ms. French explained that there were many factors that led to her divorce: "There came a point where I realized that the marriage wasn't going well anymore. I didn't. I can't believe what we used to have together."

Mrs. French also shared about the sadness after the divorce, saying that the relationship between her and her ex-husband is still friendly but insists they are not friends.

In July 2021, the New York Post quoted sources as saying, during a conference exclusively for billionaires taking place in Sun Valley, Idaho state, when asked about the breakup, Mr. Gates "basically admitted" that the divorce was his fault. He seemed a little emotional and almost cried."

The case has consumed a lot of press coverage and attracted media attention when there were many questions about Mr. Gates' seemingly "inappropriate" actions while working at Microsoft. as well as his relationship with the notorious millionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
