Ukraine is in a more difficult situation after three months of resistance and dependence on Western aid and equipment. After losing control of Mariupol, Ukraine admitted that the military situation in Donbass was "very difficult". However, they still hope to turn the tide next August when Ukrainian units receive more weapons from the West. Kiev also insists there is no territorial compromise in any peace talks with Moscow.
On the contrary, experts say that, if Russia gains complete control of Donbass, it is not ruled out that they will expand their military campaign, bringing forces back to Kharkov, southern regions and even capital Kiev capital of Ukraine.
