The suspect in Buffalo, New York, USA broadcast live the act of shooting at a local supermarket, killing 10 people at the scene.
RT reported, a mass shooting happened on the afternoon of May 14 in Buffalo, the second largest city in New York state.
A gunman with a rifle entered a local supermarket, opening fire on shoppers. The suspect was dressed in military-style clothing and appeared to act alone, local law enforcement said.
"It was like stepping into a horror movie, but everything was real," a police officer at the scene told Buffalo News.
Law enforcement said a total of 13 people were shot, of which 10 died at the scene.
Twitch, the popular live broadcasting platform, confirmed on May 14 that the suspect used the network to livestream the shooting. A Twitch spokesperson said the broadcast was removed two minutes after the shooting took place.
The suspect in the Buffalo, New York supermarket shooting has been identified as 18-year-old Payton Gendron, according to Buffalo City Court Chief Justice Craig Hannah. The suspect will be brought to trial.
Gendron was charged with first-degree murder, the highest murder charge in the state of New York. The suspect faces a life sentence without parole.
"I'm really outraged. I've seen gun violence in the Brooklyn subway station and now on the streets of Buffalo. It has to stop," New York Governor Kathy Hochul said.
Meanwhile, the FBI said the Buffalo shooting is being investigated as a hate crime. Of the 13 bullet victims, 11 were black and two were white.
