A Russian transport plane crashed, crashed in a field and burst into flames, killing at least two people.
According to RT, the incident happened on the morning of June 24 (local time) in Ryazan, a central city located 200km southeast of Moscow.
Preliminary reports say there were about 9-10 people on board the plane at the time of the crash. At least two people died while six survivors were taken to hospital for treatment.
Photos published by Russian media show that the plane that crashed is an Ilyushin Il-76, but Russian authorities have not confirmed whether this is a military or civilian aircraft.
There have been no reports of casualties or damage to ground infrastructure as the plane appeared to have crashed in a field near a highway. The fire burned quite fiercely with a very high column of black smoke.
One source said that the plane crashed and caught fire shortly after takeoff from Ryazan, where it had stopped to refuel en route from the city of Orenburg, near the border with Kazakhstan, to the city of Belgorod, which lies along the border with Kazakhstan. Ukrainian border.
