How to care for jeans?

You may wear a new pair of jeans a day. But how will you make them last longer?

Here are some of the tricks you can use to keep them looking great for a long time.

STEP 1: Keep them clean and free of stains.

Cleaning your jeans before wearing them helps prevent dirt and stains from building up on them. Clean your jeans with a lint roller or a microfiber cloth, and be sure to give them a thorough spot cleaning after every wash.

STEP 2: Don’t let the heat kill them.

Never put them in the dryer or over a radiator. Overheat is the most common cause of denim fading.

STEP 3: Wear and wash them together.

You’ll find jeans that come pre-washed are often nicer to touch. Wash them with dark colors first and then wear them on a light wash.

STEP 4: Don’t iron them.

Don’t iron them unless you want to create permanent creases.

STEP 5: Use a high-quality detergent.

Use laundry detergents with enzymes to help break down the denim fibers and keep it from dulling. Use a product specifically designed for your denim, instead of washing powder.

STEP 6: Hang them to air dry.

When washing your jeans, hang them on a hanger to dry instead of folding them in a drawer.

STEP 7: Don’t skip the drying.

After you wash them, hang them in the closet until they’re completely dry.

STEP 8: If you’re using a dryer, make sure the setting is set on “delicate” and rotate your garments frequently.

STEP 9: Store them in the right place.

Don’t store them in the bottom of your drawers. Instead, keep your jeans in a drawer where you don’t have much other clothing. That way, your jeans won’t get mixed with your socks and underwear.

STEP 10: Get the right fabric.

Jeans shouldn’t be tight. Instead, make them comfortable and relaxed. If they feel too tight, they’ll be hard to bend. Also, never put jeans in the freezer to shrink them.
