Russia attacked many cities in Ukraine overnight

In the early morning of October 8, a series of loud explosions were recorded in the eastern area of ​​the city of Kharkov. According to Kharkov Mayor Ihor Terkhov, this is the result of an intense missile strike by the Russian military on the newly liberated Ukrainian city in September.


Witnesses said fire and thick smoke rose in several areas of Kharkov. Many buildings were badly damaged. The local rapid response force was immediately on the scene to carry out search and rescue work. Human casualties have not been updated yet.


Russian missiles also hit multiple targets in the city of Nikopol on the night of October 7, killing at least one person.


The raid was part of the Russian military's response to Ukraine's military targets in recent years.


Earlier, an air raid by cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Russian military against the city of Zaporizhia in southern Ukraine took place on October 6. Pro-Kiev authorities in Zaporizhia confirmed that the missile hit a building and caused a serious fire. At least 14 people were killed in the attack.


In addition to the attacks by cruise missiles, suicide drones and artillery, the Russian ground forces, in collaboration with the militias of the separatist regions of Donetsk and Lugansk, also conducted 13 raids against the defense posts of the Russian Federation.
