Russia attacks the headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine

 Many large explosions have occurred in the Ukrainian capital Kiev after an ambush by the Russian army on October 10. According to witnesses, the headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine was among the targets of the attack.

Russia's state news agency Tass quoted sources at the scene as saying several explosions took place at Tereschenkovskaya Street in the Shevchenko district of the capital Kiev. This is the street where the headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) are located. Some witnesses said smoke was rising in the area of ​​the SBU's work building.


The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, confirmed that several large explosions occurred in the center of the Ukrainian capital today. The explosions were triggered by numerous Russian missile strikes in retaliation for the bombing of the Crimean Bridge, which Moscow accuses Ukraine of being behind.


"Several explosions have occurred in the Shevchenkivskyi district, central Kiev. Details will be announced later," Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced on Telegram today 10/10.


Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the bombing of the Crimean Bridge on October 8 an act of a terrorist nature carried out by Ukrainian special forces.


"There is no doubt that it was an act of terrorism with the goal of destroying an important civil work. This bombing was initiated and organized by the Ukrainian special forces," Putin said. in a statement released on the evening of October 9.


The statement was made after Putin had a meeting with Alexander Bastrykin, the head of Russia's National Investigative Committee. Mr. Bastrykin informed the Russian President about the latest results of the investigation into the explosion at the lifeline bridge connecting the Crimean peninsula with Russian territory.


Immediately after the bombing of the Crimean Bridge, many analysts identified retaliation, possibly through intense air raids with cruise missiles, suicide drones and artillery. will be conducted by the Russian military in the near future against targets on the territory of Ukraine. In recent years, similar raids by Moscow have destroyed hundreds of military targets as well as removed many soldiers from Kiev.


The Crimean Bridge (also known as the Kerch Bridge) was built by Russia in 2016 and completed in 2019, 5 years after the annexation of Crimea into Russia. With a length of 19km, this was said to be the longest sea bridge in Europe at that time. On the morning of October 8, a truck bombed with a bomb exploded violently on this bridge, causing serious damage.
