Russian missiles landed in the Black Sea after the explosion of the Crimean bridge

About 40 Russian missiles in the Black Sea are said to be ready to point at Ukraine at any time.

Ukraine's military said on October 10 that Russia appeared to be sending more missile ships to the Black Sea after the Crimean bridge was attacked.

"Around 11 enemy ships are operating near the Crimean coast in the Black Sea. Russia has significantly increased the number of ships carrying combat-ready missiles to six, including two submarines. About 40 Kalibr missiles are in operation. pointed at Ukraine," Ukrainsk Pravda news agency quoted information from the Southern War Department as saying.

In another related development, a series of Ukrainian cities today were rocked by missile attacks.

Ukrainian media, citing different sources, reported that large explosions were recorded in the capital Kiev, the city of Kiev, Lviv, Kharkov, Zhytomyr, Khmelnitsky, Dnipro and Ternopil.

Russia has not yet commented on the above information. However, if Moscow confirms, this would be a significant increase in Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities far from the front lines.

In Kiev, mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said a series of large explosions occurred in the central district of Shevchenkiv. According to the Guardian reporter, Kiev was hit by at least four rockets - the first attack in recent months. Pictures shared on social media showed destroyed cars and buildings, broken windows and burning streets. CNN quoted a Ukrainian official as saying that about five people were killed, 12 people in Kiev were injured after the missile attacks.

Mayor Klitschko urged people to stay in the bunker. "I urge all the people of the capital to stay in the shelter while the sirens are still ringing. If it is not necessary, it is best not to come to the city today."

Meanwhile, some other parts of Ukraine fell into blackouts.

Ukrainian officials accuse Russia of being behind the missile strikes. President Volodymyr Zelensky said: "They are trying to destroy us, erase us from the earth... Sirens are ringing all over Ukraine. Missiles are coming. Several people have been killed or injured. I urge people not to leave the bunker. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Continue to be resilient."

The incident comes amid a dramatic escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict after Moscow accused Kiev of being involved in the bombing of the Kerch bridge connecting the Russian mainland to the Crimean peninsula. On the morning of October 8, a truck suddenly exploded on the Kerch bridge (or Crimea bridge) next to the train carrying oil tanks. The explosion killed 3 people, and 2 sections of the bridge collapsed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has personally accused Ukrainian special forces of orchestrating the attack, which Moscow considers an act of terrorism. However, Kiev denied it, but said that this was just the "beginning".
