Ukraine counterattacks, destroying a Russian artillery battery at the Vuhledar . fire pan

The Ukrainian military said that Russian forces are making changes in their tactics to attack the city of Vuhledar in the east of the country.

In a statement released on February 17, Colonel Oleksii Dmytrashivskyi, spokesman for the Ukrainian army on the Tavria front, revealed that Russian forces had changed their tactics of attacking the Vuhledar fire pan in the east of the country.

"The enemy has changed tactics on this front. They stopped attacking our positions at night. Before that, they regularly organized shelling and attacks to disrupt our defenses. at night. But from today, we realize that the enemy has taken advantage of this time to reorganize and replenish forces," said Mr. Dmytrashivskyi.

Instead of attacking at night, Colonel Dmytrashivskyi accused Russia of concentrating its fire on massively attacking Ukrainian defense forces' targets in Vuhledar. These raids received great support from Russian warplanes.

Dmytrashivskyi confirmed that many fierce artillery battles had occurred between the two factions. The Ukrainian army claimed to have destroyed an entire battery of D-30 howitzers and removed many Russian soldiers from the battle.

"All the enemy's attacks of the past day have been repelled. I believe that the Russian military will no longer have the capacity to continue to carry out large-scale attacks in this area. They will need it. plenty of time to reorganize and replenish forces. Further attacks will not happen before May, "said Colonel Dmytrashivskyi.

Recently, the city of Vuhledar in eastern Ukraine has become an important target of the Russian military. Russian military commanders consider the city to be strategically located in Ukraine's defenses in Donetsk.

Therefore, Moscow mobilized many soldiers and heavy weapons to quickly capture this city. According to the Ukrainian military, soldiers from the 155th Marine Brigade and the 40th Naval Infantry Brigade have been brought to Vuhledar by Moscow in recent months.

However, these attacks also left many heavy losses for the Russian side. On February 9, the 72nd Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian army announced that it had destroyed at least 31 armored military vehicles and many Russian soldiers after a shelling on the outskirts of the city of Vuhledar.

According to the press office of the 72nd Motorized Infantry Brigade, out of 31 Russian military vehicles destroyed, this unit recorded 15 main battle tanks T-72B3 and T-80BVM, 12 armored vehicles, 2 armored personnel carriers and many heavy engineering vehicles.
